Today was a very educational day in the life of a consultant. I woke up at approximately 5:30 AM to take my car to the nearest Acura place for what I thought would be a quick repair before work. The nearest Acura place was approximately 30miles away so that was always helpful in Atlanta traffic. Upon arrival, the sweet service men of Sons Acura in Morrow, GA told me that it would be an all day ordeal. Because I drove myself there and didn't have a way to get to work, I had to just turn right around and head to Peachtree City. On my way home my roommate called to tell me of some wonderful news: there was a bed bug spotted in our hotel room. The saying my parents use to tell me of "night night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" came straight to mind. I use to think that bed bugs were just mythical creatures right up there with the loch ness monster and the unicorn. I honestly had no idea they were indeed disgusting little predators; however, the fact is that they are real. After talking with my roommate, she told me she had called the front desk and should evacuate immediately. I felt so horrible due to the fact that I was still driving back to Peachtree City and saying I have ALOT of stuff is quite the understatment! In fact, here is an image of me with all of my luggage.
Long story short, I now have a King room all to myself and it is pretty nice. I do miss Anna, my roommate, though; however, she is just two doors down in a King room of her own. The moral of the story is that I will NEVER disregard that saying. It is actually a terrifying phrase after i googled imaged bed bugs. Now that you are curious just don't do it and take my word for it that it is disgusting. I suppose we should all be a little more cautious when it comes to staying in hotels. All in all still a really fun day though and really don't have any complaints just minor bumps in the road which are to be expected. Nothing is ever perfect; however, the party in the USA "Opening Ceremony" shindig we had tonight was pretty perfect getting to see Ryan Lochte over and over plus good ole American commercials like Coca Cola never gets old. I will close by saying I am proud to be an American and let the games begin. Night night, sleep tight, DON'T let the bed bugs bite!!! But really.

XL-tee Ole Miss Girl
I am currently finishing up day 2 of consultant training and loving every minute of it. If there is something that I have learned in my short time as a consultant it is that I must wear my shirts ENTIRELY too big for everyone else's liking. My time at Ole Miss completely changed my outlook on my actual t-shirt size and some how in the last 4 years I have managed to go from a size M to a size XL. My co-workers are appalled to see that my shirt covers up my trendy norts (Nike shorts) and that if forced I could probably belt my shirts to wear them as a dress. Although the extra large swallows me whole, it is so comfortable to come home and change into from a long day of work. It is like my security blanket. My love for XL shirts will never die...haters gonna hate.
Aside from my XL fetish, the consultants are pretty accepting of my quirky ways. I haven't gotten booted out because of my southern accent yet so that is a plus. When we go to dinner, the consultants all travel together so naturally we enjoy being the party of 13 girls decked out in skirts, blouses, blazers, and pumps. Lastnight at dinner, this man asked us if we worked for a sorority (how did he know??). My friend Katie and I stopped to talk to him and politely answered yes we work for Phi Mu. The man proceeds to ask where we went to school and I replied with "Ole Miss". He immediately said that I looked like an Ole Miss girl and that not to worry that is a good thing. To defend my previous paragraph of all the haters on the XL shirts, I would just like to say that Ole Miss girls may be known for our insanely large, sluggish SRAT uniforms; however, we are also known for our sweet southern grove uniforms as well. HOTTY TODDY! "Come to Pink of it", XLs aren't so bad after all :)

ARE YOU READY?
As I entered the last semester of my senior year at the University of Mississippi, a phrase from a childhood game began to be the only thing that made sense to me; "ready or not, here I come." Whether I was ready or not, the future was coming indeed. With much thought and prayer, I am pleased to announce that I have been selected to be a chapter consultant for Phi Mu.The next year of my life will be one that I will cherish forever. I am thankful to friends who have taught me the tricks to blogging so that you may all read and keep up with me through my travels to the pink states, if you will. As I prepare for the next chapter in my life, I couldn't help but connect my past with my future. Even if it is merely the beginning words to a chant led by the student section at the Ole Miss sporting events, my question to you and to myself is ARE YOU READY?!
